How we quote and how we work
Nanaimo Roofers is a local roofing company for the City of Nanaimo, the District of Lantzville and the rural electoral areas around them. We carry full insurance and WorkSafeBC coverage, we get on all 4 sides of the roof before we price it, and we build every roof to the BC Building Code.
What does the written scope cover?
We put everything your roof needs — what comes off, what gets repaired, and what goes back on — into one written scope before we start. Our quote lists the tear-off, the deck repair, the flashing and the venting as separate lines, so you can see exactly what you are paying for. The same applies to what is excluded. Gutters, fascia, skylight flashings and chimney work are either in the scope or out of it, and the quote says which. We set out the ranges on what a new roof costs.
Who's doing the work on your roof?
We do the work directly. We're fully insured and WorkSafeBC covered, and we pull the permit and get it inspected wherever your address needs one.
Why do we publish the code detail?
We publish the figures that decide a roof here because you should be able to check our work against them. Every covering has a minimum slope, and we measure yours before we name a material. We vent to at least 1/300 of the insulated ceiling area. We build every roof to the design figures the code sets for Nanaimo, and our moss and rain guide lists them.
Coverage
We cover the City of Nanaimo, the District of Lantzville, and Electoral Areas A and B of the surrounding regional district, which take in Cedar and Gabriola Island. In Departure Bay and North Nanaimo, Lantzville, Cedar and Gabriola Island, the permit authority, the housing stock and the access all change, and on Gabriola so does the ferry schedule. Beyond those, we also cover Extension, South Wellington, Cassidy, Yellow Point, Protection Island and Mudge Island.
