Roof work, by type
Nanaimo Roofers covers four kinds of work across the Regional District of Nanaimo: new roof installation, metal roof systems, roof repair and leak tracing, and moss removal and maintenance. Slope decides which coverings are available on a given roof, and Table 9.26.3.1 of the BC Building Code sets the minimum for each one.
Four kinds of roof work
Most roofs need one of these. Where two apply, the quote prices each separately so the choice stays visible.
- New roof installationFull tear-off, deck repair, underlay and architectural shingles or standing seam metal. A fixed price, with the sheathing unknowns listed separately.
- Metal roof systemsStanding seam and profiled metal from a slope of 1 in 4 with no upper limit, detailed for a 2.1 kPa ground snow load and a 0.50 kPa design wind.
- Roof repair and leak tracingFlashing, valleys, penetrations and laps. Finding where water enters a roof, which is almost never directly above the stain on the ceiling.
- Moss removal and roof maintenanceLow-pressure moss treatment, ridge strips, and a spring and fall inspection interval that catches damage while it is still a repair.
